Ein Urteil zum Thema Urheberrechtsschutz auf DIN Normen

Ich finde das Thema Standards die nicht öffentlich sind gelinde gesagt zum Kotzen. Die einzigen die ein wenig dagegen hält ist die International Telecommunication Union (ITU) die einen Großteil (alles?) zum Download anbietet. Oder aber die Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) auf deren Standards das gesamte Internet basiert. Alles öffentlich und frei.

Im Gegensatz dazu die DIN. Nichts ist so einfach zu bekommen. Nur gegen Geld.

Eigentlich müsste es Gesetz sein das alle Standards die in Öffentlichen Ausschreibungen genannt/referenziert werden auch öffentlich einsehbar sind. Andernfalls sind die Ausschreibungen der Öffentlichen Hand ja nicht vollständig.

You need to know this. Today i set up a new notebook and i like having a local DNS cache running. So i installed pdnsd and naturally wanted it to be started so i issued a /etc/init.d/pdnsd start.

The log said - "disabled in /etc/default/pdnsd" so i edited that file to say "START_DAEMON=yes".

Then i tried /etc/init.d/pdnsd start again but nothing happened. No log entry - not a running pdnsd.

The explanation is - Even though starting of the daemon failed you need to tell systemd to actually stop it. So a /etc/init.d/pdnsd stop and start solved it.
